The association’s mission is to become The Centre for Excellence as a community-based focal point for all Tanzania related interests in Scotland

Tanzania Edinburgh Community Association

Founded informally in June 2002, the group has been instrumental in bringing together Tanzanians and their Associates in Scotland.

It is worth noting that the visit to the Scottish Parliament, in Edinburgh -(June 2002)- by a delegation of Women MPs from the Parliament of the United Republic of Tanzania on an invitation by their hosts The Scottish Parliament, motivated and highlighted the importance of having a community based association in an organized manner.

With subscribed membership of about 96+,

The community is led by a TzECA - committee whose members are:

  • Apollo Temu - Chairperson
  • Maka Mwamwaja - Secretary
  • Maggie Mazoleka - Treasurer

The Office bearers appointed and approved the following roles for effective management of organizational affairs, filled by existing committee members:

Timothy Mwakasekele - Vice Chairperson Emmanuel Tayari - Vice Secretary

The team brings a diversified experience to the fore for the interest of the wider TzECA community and stakeholders, taking the group to the next most exciting and challenging phases.
